Adoption Info

Thank you for your interest in Boxer Rescue. Our organization is a certified Rescue Affiliate of the American Boxer Rescue Association.

Please fill out and submit the application form. Please feel free to add any additional pertinent information to the Additional area of the form. A few days after you have submitted the form, please make phone or e-mail contact with one of us.

At that time we can tell you about what dogs we may have that would suit your situation, and what we know about each of them. When we have a possible match we will need to set up a home visit at a convenient time. We would like to meet you and all the members of your household so we can get a good idea of what you are looking for and what might fit best into your lifestyle.

We also want to see where the dog will be living. After the home visit we can arrange for you to meet any dogs that might be a good match. Sometimes we do not have a dog that meets your needs when you are looking for a dog.

We put your application on file, and review our files when a new dog comes in. Your application will be kept on file for 3 months. Please contact us if you wish us to keep your application on file in consideration for a rescue dog at a later time. Please understand our list of applications in not used in a "first come, first served" manner. After a dog comes into our program and is evaluated, we determine the type of home that would best suit the dog and find the applicant that best matches the particular needs of that dog.

If it has been awhile since we were in contact with you, PLEASE contact us. If you are waiting and still interested, please check in with us every week or two by phone or email. If you decide you wish to contact a breeder, we will be glad to refer you to Central Indiana Boxer Club's Breeder Referral program.

All of the dogs we have available for adoption have had temperament and behavior evaluations, been spayed or neutered, heartworm tested, fecal exam tested, are current on vaccines, and have been microchipped. Please contact us for adoption fee information. The exception is dogs over 6 who are placed for a reduced adoption donation. Occasionally we have "special need" dogs whose adoption donation may be adjusted. We require the adoption donation, along with a signed contract, when the dog leaves us. The adoption donation is not refundable after a pre-established trial-period, and needs to be paid in cash.

Thank You for considering a rescue Boxer.
